Maikaya’s Bold Pledge: I ‘ll Sustain Sule’s 8-Year Transformation in Key Sectors
By Yahaya Idris
A frontline governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, has declared his resolve to consolidate and expand the achievements of Governor Abdullahi Alhaji Sule ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Maikaya, a professional geologist, said his academic background and extensive experience in the solid minerals sector have adequately prepared him to sustain and deepen the developmental strides recorded under the current administration.

He expressed confidence that Nasarawa State stands on a strong foundation laid by the Sule-led government, which, he noted, must not only be preserved but strategically advanced.
Speaking on his vision, the aspirant identified solid minerals development, infrastructure expansion and civil service reforms as critical areas that would receive priority attention under his administration.
He stressed that Nasarawa State is abundantly blessed with mineral resources which, if effectively harnessed, could transform the economic fortunes of the state through increased internally generated revenue, job creation and industrialisation.
Maikaya pledged to deploy his professional expertise to unlock the state’s vast mineral potential, ensuring the sector becomes a major driver of economic growth and sustainability.
He added that a well-structured and transparent mining framework would attract investors and position the state as a leading hub in Nigeria’s solid minerals industry.
On infrastructure, the governorship hopeful assured that his administration would sustain ongoing projects while initiating new ones aimed at improving connectivity, boosting rural-urban integration and enhancing the ease of doing business.

He noted that continuity in governance remains essential to preserving the gains of the past eight years, describing Governor Sule’s achievements as a roadmap for sustained development.
He further emphasised the need to strengthen the civil service through reforms that promote efficiency, professionalism and service delivery, noting that a motivated workforce is key to effective governance.

Reiterating his commitment to inclusive governance, transparency and strategic planning, Maikaya said his ambition is driven by a desire to serve the people and elevate Nasarawa State to greater heights.
He called on stakeholders and residents to rally support for his aspiration, assuring that his administration would prioritise economic diversification, sustainable development and improved quality of life for all.
