A member of the Kogi State House of Assembly representing Kogi Local Government Constituency, Hon. Idrees Aliyu Maikudi Girinya, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring his full support for the party’s decisions and endorsing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a statement issued on May 3, 2026, the lawmaker stressed the supremacy of party decisions, noting that members must remain committed to the collective interest of the party.

“As a party man, we believe in the supremacy of the party and abide by its decisions, because we exist through the system and the system sustains us,” he said, adding that leadership is ultimately ordained by God.

Reflecting on his tenure, Aliyu Girinya stated that his focus had always been on effective representation rather than personal recognition.

According to him, his contributions at the Assembly were aimed at amplifying the voices of his constituents and supporting legislation that improves their daily lives.

“We did not seek praise, as it is my civic responsibility to represent our people and contribute meaningfully to governance,” he noted, while acknowledging that not all objectives could be achieved during his time in office.

The lawmaker expressed appreciation to key party leaders, including former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, Governor Ododo, and political leader Abubakar Bashir Gegu, for their guidance and support.

He also congratulated the APC’s consensus candidates that emerged from Kogi Local Government, particularly Hon. Dauda Aliyu, who is set to represent Kogi I Constituency.

Aliyu Girinya urged party members across the state to remain united, expressing confidence that the APC would achieve victory in the 2027 elections.

“As always, we will journey to victory together, from top to bottom,” he added.
