Kogi East 2027: Dekina, Idah, Ibaji, Ofu Youths Rally Behind Dr. Joe Erico for Senate

Youth groups from major local government areas in Kogi East have openly declared their support for Dr Joe Erico ahead of the 2027 senatorial election, insisting that he remains the most credible and acceptable candidate to represent the district at the National Assembly.

The youths, drawn from Dekina, Idah, Ibaji and Ofu, made their position known during separate meetings and consultations held across the district.

They described Dr. Joe Erico as a grassroots politician with a strong understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people.

According to the groups, Kogi East requires a leader with vision, accessibility and commitment to development, qualities they said Dr. Joe Erico has consistently demonstrated over the years through his relationship with the people and contributions to community growth.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, some community leaders noted that the district can no longer afford ineffective representation, stressing that the 2027 election should produce a senator capable of attracting meaningful development, empowering young people and giving the region a stronger voice at the national level.

They further urged political stakeholders, party leaders and influential figures within the district to listen to the wishes of the people and support the emergence of Dr. Joe Erico as the consensus candidate for the senatorial race.

The groups also pledged to mobilize support across communities in Kogi East to ensure widespread acceptance of his candidature as political activities gradually begin ahead of the 2027 elections.

Political pundits believe the growing endorsement from youths across the district may shape early political conversations in Kogi State as aspirants continue consultations ahead of the next election cycle.
