Kogi LG APC Inaugurates New Executives, Tasks Them on Tinubu, Ododo’s 2027 Victory

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi Local Government Area has inaugurated its newly elected executives, with a charge to leverage their experience in strengthening the party and ensuring victory for its candidates in 2027 elections.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, gave the charge on Wednesday during the inauguration ceremony held at the council secretariat in Koton-Karfe, the administrative headquarters of the local government.
He described the APC in Kogi LG as a formidable political force, likening it to a “solid rock” that cannot be broken by any opposition, and urged the new officials to remain loyal and committed to the party structure.
Gegu emphasized that the party under his leadership must maintain absolute discipline and loyalty, noting that unity remains key to sustaining its dominance.
He also used the occasion to highlight consensus candidates of the party across various elective positions, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Kogi West Senate Aspirant, Hon Samuel Bamidele Aro, House of Representatives aspirant for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro, as well as candidates for the State House of Assembly seats for Kogi 1 and 2.
The Commissioner commended President Tinubu and Governor Ododo for prioritising grassroots development, expressing optimism that the people of Kogi LG would reciprocate their efforts with massive support in the 2027 general elections.
He recalled that several party members had risen through the ranks to occupy positions such as local government chairmen, vice chairmen, councillors, and other government appointments, urging the new executives to be fair, inclusive, and transparent in party administration.
To boost morale, Gegu pledged to place the party executives on a payroll system to enhance their performance and commitment.
In his remarks, the Kogi State APC Chairman, Engr. Aliyu Momoh Ezzu, congratulated the new officials and urged them to demonstrate dedication and hard work.
Represented by the State Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Salihu Gegu, he stressed the need for effective grassroots mobilisation and called on party officers to promote the achievements of the Ododo administration.
The Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission and Zone B leader, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa, administered the oath of office and allegiance to the new executives.
He commended Engr. Bashir Gegu for his inclusive leadership and urged the officials to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He warned against disloyalty and personal ambition, stressing that party interest must take precedence, adding that any member who goes against the party would face disciplinary action.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Kogi Local Government, Hon. Abdulmalik Musa, welcomed the new executives and assured them of close collaboration to achieve the party’s objectives.
He appreciated the party leadership for instituting a reward system aimed at motivating members.
The event was attended by government officials, political appointees, and party supporters from across the 11 electoral wards of Kogi Local Government Area.
