Kuje Council Boss Swears in Councillors, Targets Youth and Women Empowerment

The Executive Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Hon. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, has inaugurated the 10 newly elected ward councillors, charging them to prioritize grassroots development and champion youth and women empowerment across the council.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony held on June 16, 2026, Shekwolo urged the councillors to remain committed to their constitutional responsibilities and work assiduously to ensure the dividends of democracy reach every ward within the Area Council.

In a statement issued by Musa Samson Adayilo, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Executive Chairman, Kuje Area Council, he emphasized the need for effective governance, accountability, and quality service delivery, stressing that the people of Kuje deserve responsive leadership that addresses their needs.

The council boss noted that his administration would place strong emphasis on policies and programmes aimed at empowering youths and women, describing them as critical drivers of sustainable development and community progress.

In a related development, Chairman Shekwolo attended the final football match organized by the Kuje Football Association and sponsored by Her Excellency, Mrs. Fatima Habiss Ugbada, as part of activities marking his electoral victory.

Addressing participants and supporters at the sporting event, Shekwolo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting sports, describing it as a vital tool for fostering peace, unity, youth engagement, and social development within Kuje Area Council.

According to him, sustained investment in sports development would help harness the talents and energies of young people while strengthening social cohesion among communities.

The Chairman was accompanied by party chieftains, stakeholders, friends, and associates from across the Area Council.

He also attended a dinner organized by key supporters to celebrate his successful inauguration as the Executive Chairman of Kuje Area Council.
