The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Kogi State Governor on Grassroots Sensitization and Mobilization, Hon. Excel Onuche David, has dismissed as false and misleading a viral online report alleging his death.

The report, which reportedly circulated across several online platforms, including some national media outlets, claimed that the aide to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo had passed away. However, Onuche has firmly debunked the claim, describing it as reckless, malicious, and entirely unfounded.

In a swift reaction, the SSA said he had been inundated with calls and messages from concerned family members, friends, and associates following the false publication.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I am alive, hale and hearty, and fully engaged in my official duties as Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sensitization and Mobilization under the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo,” he stated.

He expressed shock that such a sensitive report could be circulated without proper verification, warning that the misinformation had caused unnecessary panic and emotional distress among his family and well-wishers.

The governor’s aide called for the immediate removal of the false report from all platforms where it was published and demanded an end to its further circulation.

He further urged those responsible for the publication to issue a full retraction and an unreserved public apology within 24 hours, warning that failure to comply would leave him with no option but to pursue legal action against all individuals and media platforms involved.

Global Times Nigeria reports that Onuche thanked those who reached out to confirm his wellbeing and reaffirmed his commitment to his duties and continued service to the people of Kogi State.
