Lagos NDC Members Pass Vote of Confidence in State Chairman King Okuneye

Some members of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) in Lagos State have passed a vote of confidence in the party’s State Chairman, Hon. King Okuneye, commending his leadership and efforts to strengthen the party following the recently concluded primary elections.
In a letter dated July 7, 2026, and addressed to the national leadership of the party, the members expressed what they described as their “unwavering endorsement” of Okuneye’s leadership, citing his commitment to party unity, institutional development and internal democracy.
The letter, copied to the NDC Lagos State Chapter, praised the chairman for what the signatories called his dedication to consolidating the party’s structures across the state.
According to the members, although the party’s primary elections were accompanied by challenges, they remain confident in Okuneye’s ability to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue, fairness, transparency and reconciliation.
They expressed optimism that the chairman would continue to foster unity among party stakeholders and position the Lagos chapter for success in future elections.
The members also described Okuneye as a leader of integrity and inclusiveness, saying his strategic approach to party administration had strengthened confidence in the leadership of the state chapter.
Reaffirming their support, the signatories pledged their loyalty and commitment to the party’s programmes, adding that they would continue to work with the state leadership to advance the NDC’s agenda and promote good governance in Lagos State.
The letter was signed on behalf of the members by Comrade Martians Abimbola, Mrs. Stella Ugochukwu Godwin, and Babatunde Femi Ishola, all identified as members of the NDC Lagos State Chapter.
