Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammed, who currently serves as the State Accountant General, presided over the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for eight years during the Third and Fourth Assemblies from 2007 to 2015.

His visitor, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, currently Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe State, served as Speaker for eight and a half years, leading the Fifth and Sixth Assemblies and part of the Seventh Assembly between 2015 and 2023.

Dr. Muhammed, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the 2027 election and widely known as Baraden Nasarawa, received his longtime legislative colleague and political associate, Balarabe Abdullahi, the Wali Opanda, at his office.

Although the meeting was held behind closed doors, sources familiar with the discussions said the two elder statesmen deliberated on issues relating to unity within the state, political developments, governance and strategies for sustainable development.

The meeting is regarded by political observers as significant, coming at a time when consultations and alignments are intensifying ahead of the 2027 elections.

While neither leader disclosed details of the meeting, political watchers believe the engagement reflects ongoing consultations among key stakeholders as the state’s political landscape continues to evolve ahead of the next electoral cycle.
