2027: Ogazi Empowers Women in Keffi, Kokona, Pledges People-Oriented Representation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, has pledged to provide purposeful and people-centred representation if elected into the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.

Ogazi said he would champion pragmatic legislation that addresses the needs of the people, strengthens democratic institutions and attracts greater development to Nasarawa State and Nigeria, insisting that he would not be a “rubber-stamp” lawmaker or a bench warmer.

The lawmaker, who currently represents Kokona East Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, made the commitment on Tuesday in Keffi during an empowerment programme for 550 women drawn from the 10 electoral wards of Keffi Local Government Area.

According to him, the initiative is part of a broader empowerment programme designed to improve the livelihoods of women and support small-scale businesses across the federal constituency.

He explained that the programme commenced in his home local government area of Kokona, where 600 women benefited, while a similar exercise targeting about 600 women in Karu Local Government Area would be held in the coming weeks.

“As part of our humanitarian efforts, we are supporting each beneficiary with a ₦20,000 grant to either start or expand their businesses. It is also a way of appreciating the women for their overwhelming support during the APC primary election,” he said.

Speaking on his legislative agenda, Ogazi promised to remain accessible to the people and pursue laws and policies that would have direct impact on the welfare of his constituents.

“I will continue to be Daniel, not the Daniel in the lions’ den, but a Daniel who will be the voice of the people. I will not be known for simply saying ‘Yes Sir’ to those in authority. My focus will be on sponsoring impactful legislation that will bring meaningful development to our constituency,” he said.

He added that, if elected to the National Assembly, he would prioritise legislation that promotes economic growth, improves public services and responds to the aspirations of the people.

Ogazi also commended the APC governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, for his commitment to grassroots development and for attending the empowerment programme.

He described Wadada as the right candidate to lead the state, expressing confidence that his administration would expand empowerment programmes, attract investments and create more economic opportunities for residents.

The beneficiaries, alongside women leaders and party stakeholders, commended the lawmaker for the empowerment initiative and pledged their continued support for his House of Representatives bid, describing the gesture as evidence of his commitment to grassroots development and inclusive leadership.
