Stakeholders from across Nigeria on Thursday converged on the GRA residence of former Governor of Nasarawa State and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, in Keffi, to celebrate his 80th birthday.

The event attracted prominent political leaders, government officials, traditional figures and associates who paid glowing tributes to the elder statesman, describing him as a towering figure in Nasarawa politics and a national leader whose contributions to governance continue to inspire younger generations.

Security was heightened around the venue as serving and former public office holders, irrespective of political affiliation, gathered to honour the former governor, senator and APC national chairman.

Among those who offered prayers and goodwill messages were Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, represented by Dr. Murtala Adogi, former Minister of Information and ex-Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Hon. Labaran Maku, Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Dr. Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, Chief Philip Dada, Secretary to the State Government, Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area, Mek Agbawu, Ambassador Sam Jimba, Commissioner for Education, Dr. John Mamman, and several other dignitaries.

Governor Sule prayed for Senator Adamu’s continued good health and longevity, asking Allah to preserve him so he could continue providing leadership and fatherly guidance to the state and the nation.

Representing Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, Dr. Murtala Adogi described the celebrant as a nationalist whose influence extends beyond Nasarawa State.

He noted that the presence of distinguished personalities from different parts of the country reflected Senator Adamu’s enduring political relevance.

“Even though I am here representing Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, the 80th birthday of our father and mentor is highly commendable. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him many more prosperous years in good health,” he said.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Dr. Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, congratulated the Turakin Keffi, describing his life as one of service, discipline and impactful leadership.

She said Senator Adamu remains focused, determined and compassionate in pursuing policies and programmes that improve the lives of the people.

The minister also urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country’s leaders, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda would restore the nation’s economic and developmental fortunes.

Former Minister of Information, Hon. Labaran Maku, Chief Philip Dada, Dr. John Mamman and Ambassador Sam Jimba, all of whom worked closely with Senator Adamu at different times, described him as a disciplined administrator who rejected mediocrity and consistently pursued excellence throughout his public service career.

Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area, Mek Agbawu, also praised the former APC chairman for his unwavering commitment to the unity and development of Nasarawa State.

Family members, including Hajiya Khadijat Abdullahi Adamu and one of his daughters, expressed gratitude to God for preserving the elder statesman. They described him as a caring husband and disciplined father whose values shaped the lives of his children despite his prominence in public office.
