Wadada’s Political Credentials and the H.E.A.R.T. Agenda: Campaign Should Be About Ideas, Not Noise – Dubagari Jnr
As political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State continue to gather momentum, political commentator Dubagari Jnr has called on aspirants and their supporters to focus on policy debates and development agendas rather than personal attacks and propaganda.
In a statement titled “Wadada’s Political Credentials and the H.E.A.R.T. Agenda: The Campaign Should Be About Ideas, Not Noise,” Dubagari Jnr argued that Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s political experience, leadership record and public service credentials have positioned him as a leading consensus governorship candidate in the state.
According to him, Senator Wadada has elevated political discourse by unveiling the H.E.A.R.T. Agenda, a development blueprint that outlines his vision for the future of Nasarawa State.
Dubagari Jnr expressed concern that some critics have attacked the agenda without presenting alternative policy proposals or development plans of their own.
He maintained that in every democratic society, elections should be contested on the strength of ideas, policies and competing visions rather than insults, distractions or social media campaigns.
Reflecting on a recent article critical of the H.E.A.R.T. Agenda, he said the writer failed to engage with the substance of the policy document and instead focused on criticizing Senator Wadada personally.
According to him, such an approach contributes little to meaningful democratic engagement.
Dubagari Jnr noted that by publicly unveiling his development agenda, Senator Wadada has demonstrated preparedness for leadership and has given the people of Nasarawa State an opportunity to evaluate his proposed programmes.
He urged supporters of other governorship aspirants to encourage their preferred candidates to also present comprehensive development blueprints, allowing voters to compare competing visions before making informed decisions at the polls.
“The introduction of the H.E.A.R.T. Agenda has already shifted the political conversation toward issue-based campaigning. That is healthy for our democracy,” he said.
He added that anyone who believes they possess better solutions for improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, economic development and security should present those ideas directly to the electorate.
According to him, democracy flourishes when ideas compete rather than when political discourse is dominated by rhetoric and personal attacks.
Dubagari Jnr further argued that social media criticism cannot replace a comprehensive policy framework, stressing that voters will ultimately assess every governorship aspirant based on the quality of their ideas, credibility, experience, track record and ability to deliver meaningful development.
He also noted that Senator Wadada has spent several months consulting widely with stakeholders across Nasarawa State while articulating his vision for governance.
According to him, many supporters believe the H.E.A.R.T. Agenda offers a practical roadmap that seeks to consolidate the developmental achievements of Governor Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule while introducing fresh initiatives aimed at accelerating economic growth and improving the welfare of citizens.
Dubagari Jnr concluded by urging all governorship aspirants to present their programmes to the electorate and allow voters to decide based on policies rather than propaganda.
“The future of Nasarawa State is too important to be determined by empty rhetoric or personality attacks. It should be decided by competence, experience, integrity and a clear development agenda.
Let every aspirant present a blueprint to the people. Let this campaign be about policies rather than propaganda, solutions rather than gutter slogans and unnecessary rhetoric,” he stated.
