The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the withdrawal of twenty-seven students from the institution over poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters.
The decision was reached during the University’s 166th Regular Senate Meeting held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, following the presentation of the Results Verification Committee’s report, which assessed the academic status of students across faculties and departments.
According to the Senate, the affected students were drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery.
Eleven students were withdrawn after failing to satisfy the University’s minimum academic requirements, while sixteen others forfeited their studentship after failing to register for two consecutive semesters, contrary to the institution’s Academic Regulations.
The Senate reaffirmed that the decision was taken strictly in accordance with the University’s established rules aimed at maintaining academic integrity and institutional excellence.
Speaking after the approval, the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, praised members of the Results Verification Committee for conducting a transparent and objective review.
He stressed that the University remains committed to sustaining quality education, discipline and academic excellence, noting that students also have a responsibility to remain focused and comply with institutional regulations.
Professor Usman encouraged continuing students to take advantage of the University’s conducive learning environment and remain committed to excellence in both learning and character.
The University also directed all affected students to return official University property, including identity cards and other institutional materials, to the Security Unit before exiting the institution.

PAAU SENATE APPROVES WITHDRAWAL OF TWENTY-SEVEN (27) STUDENTS OVER POOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, FAILURE TO REGISTER FOR TWO (2) CONSECUTIVE SEMESTERS
The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has considered and approved the withdrawal of twenty-seven (27) students from the institution for poor academic performance and failure to register for two (2) consecutive semesters, in line with the University’s Academic Regulations.
The decision was taken at the 166th Regular Meeting of the Senate held on Wednesday, 29th July 2026 following the consideration of the report of the Results Verification Committee, which reviewed the academic standing of students across various faculties and departments of the University.
The affected students, drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery, were withdrawn after failing to meet the minimum academic requirements, and for failing to register for two (2) consecutive semesters, thereby forfeiting their studentship in accordance with the University’s regulations.

The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended members of the Results Verification Committee for their diligence, objectivity and commitment to upholding the University’s academic standards.
He reiterated the determination of the Senate and the University Management to sustain academic excellence, discipline and quality assurance, stressing that while the University would continue to provide a conducive environment for learning, students must equally demonstrate commitment to their studies and comply with extant academic regulations.
The Vice-Chancellor urged all continuing students to remain focused, take advantage of the enabling academic environment and strive for excellence in both character and learning.
Meanwhile, the affected students have been directed to submit all University property in their possession, including their identity cards and any other official items to the security unit before exiting the university.
