Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Osun State governorship election and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has directed members of the campaign council to suspend every other engagement and concentrate entirely on securing victory for the party in the August 15 governorship election.
Uzodinma gave the charge on Monday during a meeting of the APC National Campaign Council held at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, describing the Osun governorship election as a crucial political assignment with national significance.
According to the Imo State governor, members of the campaign council must demonstrate unwavering commitment, discipline and teamwork throughout the campaign, insisting that the party cannot afford to lose focus ahead of the keenly contested poll.
“Every other engagement must take a back seat until after the election. This is not a period for celebrations or ceremonies but a time for hard work, strategic planning and total commitment,” Uzodinma told council members.
He directed all subcommittees of the campaign council to immediately reconvene and submit their strategic plans, ideas and operational proposals before Thursday to ensure effective coordination of campaign activities across Osun State.
Uzodinma stressed that every member of the council has a vital role in delivering victory for the APC, urging them to intensify grassroots mobilisation, expand voter engagement and strengthen communication with stakeholders across the state.
He maintained that the outcome of the election would largely depend on unity of purpose, effective coordination and the dedication of campaign council members to the party’s collective objective.
The APC campaign council chairman also urged members to avoid distractions and remain focused on the task ahead, expressing confidence that the ruling party would emerge victorious if everyone worked together with determination and a shared sense of responsibility.
The meeting reviewed the party’s level of preparedness for the August 15 governorship election and fine-tuned strategies aimed at consolidating APC’s support base across Osun State.
