The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kogi East, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and pledged what he described as strong backing from Kogi East in the forthcoming election.

Erico spoke after the Forum of Senior Special Assistants to Governors of North Central states appointed him as its National Adviser.

The forum announced the appointment during a courtesy visit to Erico, with Chairman Prince Ezekiel Oruma saying the body was working to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and communication between government and citizens.

Oruma said the forum was also working toward continuity of the Tinubu administration beyond 2027.

According to him, Senior Special Assistants have a strategic responsibility because of their closeness to citizens and their role in explaining government policies and programmes.

The chairman also commended the removal of fuel subsidy, arguing that it had increased resources available to state governments for development.

Erico thanked the forum for the appointment and said grassroots stakeholders played an important role in governance and political mobilisation.

He described the North Central as “the heartbeat of the nation” and said his political journey had benefited from grassroots support.

“I am a product of the benchmark of grassroots solidarity because the grassroots contributed immensely to the victory during my primary election.”

The Kogi East APC candidate then assured President Tinubu of support from the zone.

“I am assuring the President that Kogi East will deliver one hundred percent for him in the forthcoming election. He has done so much for us and we are going to reciprocate it.”

The statement represents Erico’s political position and campaign commitment rather than an independently verified forecast of electoral results.

A recent report on the event also said Erico pledged to seek infrastructure projects and effective representation for Kogi East if elected to the Senate.

Erico subsequently pledged to work with the SSAs forum and other stakeholders to advance peace, security and development across Kogi State and the North Central region.
