The Delta State Government has called on qualified young people across the state to participate in the ongoing Nigerian Air Force recruitment exercise for 2026.

The government said the awareness campaign is aimed at ensuring that eligible Deltans are properly informed about available military and paramilitary enlistment opportunities.

The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., urged parents, guardians, youth organisations and other stakeholders to assist in creating awareness among eligible candidates.

He said prospective applicants should familiarise themselves with the requirements and complete their applications before the closing date.

The recruitment is being conducted for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC 47/2026) under the Tradesmen/Women and Non-Tradesmen/Women categories.

For the Non-Tradesmen/Women category, applicants must be between 18 and 22 years old, while the age range for Tradesmen/Women applicants is 18 to 25 years.

The recruitment requirements also include prescribed educational and physical standards.

Applicants must meet the minimum height requirement of 1.66 metres for males and 1.63 metres for females.

Tradesmen/Women applicants must additionally possess relevant technical or trade qualifications.

The application window opened on September 3, 2026, and is scheduled to close on October 14, 2026.

Oghenesivbe advised applicants to use the official Nigerian Air Force recruitment portal and carefully follow the published guidelines.

He stressed the importance of providing correct personal information and uploading genuine supporting documents.

The Delta Government official further warned applicants to beware of fraudulent recruitment agents.

He said nobody should pay money to an individual or organisation claiming to have the ability to influence the recruitment process, noting that the exercise is free.

The awareness campaign, he said, is part of efforts to ensure that young Deltans have access to credible information about legitimate opportunities to serve in the nation’s military and paramilitary institutions.
