…Says Lawmaker’s Return to Senate Will Unlock More Opportunities Beyond 2027
From Yahaya Idris, Lokoja
The people of Kogi West Senatorial District have declared Senator Sunday Steve Karimi the best senator the district has produced since the creation of Kogi State, calling on constituents and stakeholders across religion and tribal affiliation to rally behind his re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The people, while highlighting the lawmaker’s achievements, said his representation at the National Assembly had recorded notable interventions in security, education and infrastructure development, with impacts they said extended beyond the boundaries of his senatorial district.

They maintained that Senator Karimi’s legislative engagement and development-oriented interventions reflected a determination to complement the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to them, the senator’s contributions to grassroots development, coupled with his commitment to addressing the needs of his constituents, had strengthened the argument for continuity in representation.
They further argued that returning Karimi to the Senate for a second term would provide an opportunity to consolidate existing achievements, attract more development projects and expand access to opportunities for the people of Kogi West and other residents of the state.
The stakeholders therefore urged the people to look beyond political differences and support the senator’s re-election ambition, insisting that sustained representation was necessary to build on the gains already recorded.
They expressed optimism that Karimi’s return to the Red Chamber after the 2027 elections would open another chapter of political opportunities, improved development partnerships and stronger representation for the district.
