LOKOJA — The Win With Tinubu (WWT) Grassroots Mobilisation Programme has announced plans to inaugurate its Local Government and Ward Executive structures across all 239 electoral wards in Kogi State as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The State Programme Coordinator, Hon. Sani Philips, disclosed this on Thursday during a press conference in Lokoja themed “Re-engineering Grassroots Politics in Kogi State.”

Philips said the planned inauguration, scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, would mark the beginning of the programme’s second phase, following the completion of town hall meetings across federal constituencies in the state.

He explained that the next phase would focus on strengthening grassroots coordination, communicating government policies, engaging communities, mobilising volunteers and establishing monitoring and accountability mechanisms.

According to him, the first phase of the programme was designed to communicate the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while laying the groundwork for a broader grassroots network.

Philips commended the Kogi State APC leadership under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, as well as Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West and WWT Chairman, and Senator Jibrin Isah, popularly known as Echocho, representing Kogi East and WWT Co-Chairman, for their support during the first phase.

He said town hall meetings had provided opportunities for engagement but stressed that sustained political participation required functional structures capable of maintaining contact with communities.

“While such meetings provide important opportunities for engagement, sustainable mobilization requires functional structures that maintain contact with the people,” Philips said.

The coordinator clarified that WWT was not a campaign council but a structured grassroots mobilisation programme intended to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election and all APC National Assembly candidates in Kogi State.

He said the initiative would adopt a bottom-up approach, with structures operating from the ward level through local governments to the state level.

Philips added that participation would be voluntary and peaceful, stressing that the programme would not tolerate intimidation, coercion or inducement.

He also reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to discipline, transparency, factual communication and respect for democratic rights.

The coordinator urged media organisations to distinguish between announced plans, ongoing activities and verified outcomes in their reporting.

He called on stakeholders, supporters and volunteers to participate in the initiative, describing organisation, communication and democratic participation as central to its objectives ahead of the 2027 elections.

“From the grassroots to the ballot box, our commitment remains: organization, communication, and democratic participation,” he said.
