Again, Gunmen attack Ajaokuta, kidnap three children, demand N100m ransom.

IDRIS AHMED, LOKOJA.

Unknown gunmen on Wednesday kidnapped three Children in absence of their parents in the Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident according to sources happened at about 8 p.m on Wednesday in Kaduna Estate of the Steel complex, a few days after the massacre of 3 Policemen and 5 vigilantes at Gidan Bassa in the same local government area.

According to sources the gunmen, on arrival at the scene, shot sporadically into the air to scare neighbors from the scene before kidnapping the children.

A family source, who craved anonymity, identified the father of the kidnapped children as Mr. Kadiri, who hails from Edo State disclosed that an early morning call on Thursday by the gunmen demanded a 100 million naira ransom for the release of the 5 – 10 years old Children

According to the source “The gunmen came in their numbers fully armed to the house of Mr. Kadiri that sells television, radio and another electronic device in the steel township.

“They shot countless times to scare people from coming close. When they could not see their targeted victim, (Kadiri) they decided to pick the three children from the house”.

The where of the children can not be ascertained, but the kidnappers have contacted some of the family members demanding N100 million. The source disclosed.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kogi State, William Ovye Aya, could not be reached for confirmation of the incident as he did not respond to calls put across to him.
