The Management of the Ajaokuta steel company has tasked its staff to be security conscious at all times in order to protect themselves and the industry against any form of challenges in view of the incessant attacks and insurgency across the country.
Engr. Sumaila Abdul-Akaba, Sole Administrator of the steel plant, who handed down the order on Friday at a two day security seminar organized for the management, staff and security personnel of the Steel company, said that no organisation can succeed without adequate security, urging them to be security conscious at all times in order to protect themselves against any forms of security challenges.
The seminar was organised by Duniya Agencies Nig. Limited (Management and Security Consultants) in collaboration with Lexinium Global Intellectual Consortium to sensitise and engage the Ajaokuta steel company community on the need to be proactive to protect the giant steel company in the face of the prevalent insecurity situation across the country.
“It is pertinent to note that security problems can not be resolved in a day, but through this type of seminar, workshop and programmes, the staff will be acquainted with the basic knowledge of providing security to protect the industry and their lives” he said.
While urging the workers of the company to always apply the knowledge gained from the seminar in their day-to-day activities of the company, the Sole Administrator assured that the management would not relent in it’s effort at ensuring that every form of security challenges that can disrupt activities in the company will be tackled.
He therefore thanked the management of Duniya Agencies Nig. Limited and Lexinnium Global Intellectual Consortium for the seminar.
The Managing Director, Duniya Agencies, Alhaji Ahmed Adoke in his speech urged Nigerians to always be security conscious and ensure that the right things are done at all times.
“In the face of security challenges like the type we are passing through of recent, it becomes our responsibility as individual to use our discretion to stop those encouraging insecurity” he said.
In a paper presented by Mr Japa Muhammad Idris titled “security consciousness in Ajaokuta steel company: The task before stakeholders”, the erudite scholar called government at all levels and all patriotic citizens to contribute and provide reasonable advices and strategies that will check general insecurity in the Ajaokuta area.
He urged the staff and the host community to be vigilant and synergize on how to tackle the criminals in their midst.
