The National Chairman of the Grassroot Mobilizer for Buhari/Osinbajo (GMB&O) Hajiya, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Goni, has said that Senator George Akume’s pools of experience and bridge-building mechanism can make a difference in providing quality leadership if given the mandate as national chairman to pilot affairs of the party.
Dr. Goni, spoke at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) when she accompanied Senator Akume to obtain an expression of interest form to contest for national chairman of the party at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, on Thursday.
She also said that Senator Akume is an experience and a bridge builder with the mechanism to make a difference in providing quality representation in the party while describing Senator Akume as a seasoned and grassroots politician that towers all other aspirants for the national championship race.
“And I am very confident that Senator George Akume is a formidable material tailored to fit the APC national chairman’s position that will give his steadfastness, leadership acumen, and resourcefulness. And the party will be better under his watch” She added.
Global Times Nigeria report that Senator George Akume, is the minister of Special Duties And Inter-Governmental Affairs, was also accompanied by Borno state governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, Senator Barnabas Gemade and some APC stalwarts to the national secretariat of APC to pick the expression of interest form.
It was learned that the national secretariat of the party has fixed March 26, 2022, for its convention, after it has zoned the chairmanship position to the north-central, even though former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, was reported to have picked the expression of interest form.
