As Governor Zulum set to resettle IDPs, Announces Construction of 10,000 Housing Units In Borno State

Borno state Government is to build 10,000 housing units in both rural and urban areas in the state with the vision of resettling the IDPs and close the IDPs camps within Maiduguri and Jere in the year 2020. The Governor announced this at the venue of the launching of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Zulum also announced that additional 10,000 units is approved by President Buhari to be constructed in the state.

“I’m so pleased and grateful to tell Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari has graciously and very boldly approved the construction of 10,000 houses in Borno State as part of FG’s intervention in our recovery efforts.” Prof Zulum said.

The Governor launched the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and handed over 70 Patrol Vehicles, at the event that took place at the Shehu’s palace Maiduguri.

The squad is comprised of the Military, Police, Civil defense and other Paramilitary, Civilan JTF, Hunters as well as Vigilantes.

Additionally, Zulum approved the construction of 60 classrooms Mega school at the premises of Former CGC constructions company’s operational yard, at Moramti opposite 1000 housing units.

At the Borno state University, where he rounded up his tour, the governor inspected the ongoing construction projects of roads and drainages and two new hostels in the institution.
