Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Monday lambasted the Chinese contractors handling the renovation and construction of a new administrative block of the Specialist hospital, Lokoja, over shoddy Job.
The Governor who was visibly angry said both the pace and quality of work are unacceptable, adding that his administration will never accept what he referred to as shabby and poor quality of work.
While expressing total displeasure with the supervising ministries and agencies, the Governor stressed that it is unimaginable that his administration was spending so much funds on shoddy jobs.
He therefore gave the contractors a December deadline to correct all the abnormalities and promised to hold responsible all those that recommended and certified the company for the job.
Gov. Yahaya Bello has earlier inspected ongoing construction work of the flyover at the Ganaja junction, Lokoja, and the GYB Modern Science school, Adankolo, where he expressed satisfaction with the quality of jobs done.
Other projects inspected by the Governor include the River Niger embankment projects along the old market and other projects where he commended the quality and the pace of work done.
