Bello’s return to Kogi raises citizens hope, Civil Servants, LG workers, Market women, petty traders jubilate.

IDRIS AHMED, LOKOJA.

Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Wednesday triumphantly entered Lokoja, the state capital.

Reports by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammed Onogwu and other close aides, the people of the state expressed their solidarity by trouping out en mass to welcome their governor back to the state after several weeks in Abuja.

For the period of his absence, the state Chief Executive was said to have been engaged in state and national as well as his political party activities.

“Activities bordering on Governor’s meetings, petrol subsidy removal, palliatives, FAAC meeting, security and several other serious matters affecting the well being of Nigerians, were said to be responsible for the long absence”, the aides disclosed.

On stepping on the soil of Kogi, the residents trooped out in their thousands. At Chikara the border town between Kogi, Nasarawa states and Abuja, people jubilated, forcing the governor’s convoy to a stop.

On his usual characteristics, the people’s Governor came down from his car and exchanged pleasantries with the people. It was so all along the high way to Lokoja.

On arriving Gegu Beki, the country home of Honourable Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the journey turned to a political carnival as the youth, women and all the dignitaries including the Governor had no option than to participate in the dancing,singing praises of Governor Bello and the APC candidate Ododo.

As the journey to Lokoja progressed, that was how the population increased from village to village and settlement to settlement, down to the state capital.

While in the state capital, the “Lion’s den”, a spontaneous tumultuous crowd over whelmed the Governor and a harmonious re union with the leader was re established, signifying the fullest support needed for the enthronement of his successor Usman Ahmed Ododo.
