Coronavirus Hits Keffi In Nasarawa State, Schools Abruptly Closed.

The deadly coronavirus has been detected in Nasarawa state and the five victims are currently quarantined at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi.

Chief Medical Director, federal Medical Centre, Keffi, Dr. Adamu Yahaya told Journalists that a family of five who came to Keffi from Ogun state have shown symptoms of the deadly virus and are being quarantined and isolated.

According to Dr. Yahaya, the family of five who came from Ogun arrived Nasarawa state on Thursday, adding that they are being isolated pending when the final results of their specimen come out.

Recall that before this case, there was no any reported case of coronavirus in Nasarawa state and this marks the first case being reported in the state.

Dr. Yahaya has, however, assured the people of the state that everything is under control as the government is doing everything possible to manage the spreading of the virus in the state.

Inview of this development, the state Ministry of Education has ordered for immidiete closure of all schools in the state.

State Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Fati Jimeta Sabo urged Principals and critical stakeholders to comply without any delay.

She however instructed that all pending examinations be completed early next week and students proceed on indefinite vacation pending improvement of the situation.
