Day I wept upon hearing terrorists invaded my constituency – Nasarawa speaker.

 

The Speaker, Nasarawa state house of assembly, Hon Abdullahi Balarabe Ibrahim, has recalled how he wept upon hearing that armed bandits (Daru- Salam) invaded his constituency.

Ibrahim, who is representing Ugya/Umaisha state constituency, stated this while addressing youths/women when he paid sympathy visit to some communities affected by flood under his Umaisha country home on Friday.

He said with the efforts of the state government under the leadership of Engr. Abdullahi Sule and the federal government, the bandits were completely dislodged at their camps in the area.

He said the dislodgement of the bandits has brought peace and a sigh of relief to both people of his constituency and Toto local government as well as as other neighboring towns.

“The very I heard that (Darul-Salam) terrorists invaded my constituency, I came down from my bed and started weeping. I later went and performed ablution and observed two Raka’at file prayers,” he said.

The speaker recalled how innocent lives were lost as a result of the incessant attacks by the terrorists, saying he gave glory to almighty God for his intervention in seeing that the spate of killings and kidnapping by the terrorist group was eradicated in his constituency.

He, therefore, urged the youth to continue to remain peaceful and law-abiding by constituted authorities, especially at the peak of electioneering campaign activities.

“I want to appeal to our youth to continue to be peaceful and law-abiding by constituted authorities. The opposition may come after you people for trouble, but never you engage them as what we are after is victory come 2023,” he said.

He, however, expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) shall emerge victorious from presidential down to the state assembly election in the 2023 general election.
