…..Says Advancing Delta connotes development, prosperity and peaceful coexistence.
Executive Assistant on Communications to the Governor of Delta State, Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has assured that the needless disputes which arose from the governorship primary in Delta Central axis of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will be resolved in due course by the incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and leadership of the party.
Oghenesivbe gave the assurance while speaking during a live political programme on radio monitored in Asaba on Saturday, saying that the state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, did well by ensuring that all aspirants were given the opportunity to test their popularity in a free, fair and credible gubernatorial primary which was televised live on national television.
He further assured that the pre-governorship primary political friction which may have triggered minor defections to the opposition parties before the governorship election will not last any longer.
Okowa’s EAC posited that the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, upon assuming office on May 29 as the new party leader in the state, would do everything and anything legitimate to reach out to all aggrieved individuals and groups with a view to uniting and positioning Delta PDP for future landslide victories, adding that no stone will be left unturned to ensure that PDP remain the power in power, going forward.
Oghenesivbe who is also the Chairman of the Coalition for Media Politics and Governance, CMPG, further asserted that Oborevwori administration will foster watertight unity and oneness among PDP leaders and stakeholders in the three senstorial districts.
He said Governor Okowa ensured that Delta Central got her slot in the ongoing rotation of power among the three senstorial districts and deserves commendation for his visionary leadership; forthrightness, transparency and for promoting peace and equity in the state, adding that the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, will build on the multifaceted colourful legacies of Okowa administration.
“His Excellency, the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, known to be a Pan Delta leader will be governor for all Deltans. He has no enemy in any part of the state, and nobody is good enough to be his enemy.
“He has assured Deltans that he shall be magnanimous in victory and that includes advancing Delta, which connotes overall development of the three senstorial districts, peaceful coexistence, wealth and job creation and prosperity for our people.
“The Governor-Elect abhors division within the rank and file of our great party, PDP, and shall do the needful to lead the party in one piece, go all out to resolve all political and electioneering lacunas, so as to position the party for greater performance and victories during his eight years tenure as governor of Delta State,” Oghenesivbe said.
