Oghenesivbe gave the assurance while speaking to newsmen at the inauguration of Delta State PDP Campaign Council and Campaign Management Committee on Thursday in Asaba, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the past seven years mismanaged all sectors of the nation’s economy, incurred needless huge debts obtained recklessly and which were grossly misappropriated.

He said that the good governance strides of the incumbent governor of Delta State and PDP Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, shall be reechoed and emphasized during the campaigns from Units to Ward and to local government areas.

Oghenesivbe pointed out that Okowa’s scorecard in seven years and counting is what’s making the candidate of the major opposition party in the State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to be nervous politically, coupled with the fact that APC national government under Buhari and Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, cannot point to any major project executed in the state.

“With the successful inauguration of the state campaign council and campaign management committee today, we shall now commence issues based campaign in twenty five local government areas, comprising three senatorial districts; Delta North, Delta Central and Delta South.

“As we go about our campaign, we shall refer to and point at projects executed and commissioned by governor Okowa.

“We shall also continue to talk about the new State Secretariat which is the best in Nigeria, built by governor Okowa, the Stephen Keshi International Stadium, the underground water tunnels, as well as the film village and leisure park to be commissioned in January next year by incoming President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. There are several other projects executed and ongoing by our capacity governor, Senator Okowa.

“In the same vein, we expect the opposition party candidate, Senator Agege, to mention or point at projects initiated and executed in Delta State by his APC national government under Buhari and Tinubu.

“The last time we checked, the two federal projects influenced by Senator Agege but yet to be executed are; the Nigerian Law School in Delta Central and the Federal Polytechnic.

“The two projects were taken to his Orogun village in Ughelli North local government area by Senator Agege and nothing more, leaving other local governments in the district empty handed.

“Our governorship candidate in Delta State, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor, is very popular, humble, accessible and his wealth of experience in grassroots politics and in public service as the longest serving Speaker of the State House of Assembly coupled with his capacity, integrity, competence and sound mind shall effortlessly defeat his opponents; Senator Agege and Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi. They shall be retired from active politics in 2023.

“The truth of the matter is that Delta State is PDP and PDP is Delta State. Our multiple elections winning State party chairman, Olorogun Barr. Kingsley Esiso shall again led us to yet another resounding and mesmerising victory in 2023.

“PDP Delta Campaign Management Committee Director, Rt Hon Solomon Funkekeme, will head the overall think thank groups and execute strategic plans that would permanently silence the opposition parties in the state electioneering history.

“The M.O.R.E Agenda of our governorship candidate, Rt Hon Oborevwori, shall be further articulated during the campaigns and it promises to advance Delta State and bring more economic prosperity to all Deltans and further promote peaceful coexistence among our people in the three senatorial districts.

“Our principal and incoming governor Oborevwori will facilitate and ensure; Meaningful development, Opportunity for all Deltans, Realistic socioeconomic reforms and Enhanced peace, security and social harmony,” Oghenesivbe said.
