Ebira Women Group Residents In Koton-Karfe Launch Group Almanac, Barr. Tanko, Hon. Akawu, Ohikwura And Others Grace The Event

The Ebira Women Association, (EWA) Koton-Karfe, an association of Women group promoting socio-political, economy, unity and culture in the Koton-Karfe, Kogi Local Government in the State, has held a sendforth party and launched its annual Almanac for members.

The event which took place at Koton-Karfe Central Primary School, had a large turnout of people from different tribes, location and religion who have comes to joined them celebrate their special day.

 

Among the guests who witnessed the program included, Administrator of Kogi LG, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa represented by Hon. Isah Abubakar Ada Abu, Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ohikwura and many notable dignitaries.

In his brief remarks, Local Government Council Treasurer, Hon. Abdullahi Yusuf Ohikwura, pledge his Unalloyed support to the group and urged them to continue with their peaceful ways and manner of doing things.

Ohikwura reminded the women group that over 200 years Koton-Karfe LG had never had it so good as in the Administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whose regime has extended electricity from the State Capital to Kogi LG out of love he had for Koto populace, a development that has boost it economy, security and among others. He said.

Speaking earlier, the Administrator of Kogi LG, Hon. (Barr.) Muhammed Tanko Musa, ably represented by Hon. Isah Abubakar Ada Abu, said Egbira Koto and Ebira Okene are one big family from one descendants union with similar cultural heritage and dialects.

While showing his open appreciation, the Administrator stated that the women group and entire Ebira nation residing in Koton-Karfe has contributed immensely to the development of Kogi LG, where he noted that all the achievements in Kogi LG today came through the Governor who happened to be an Ebira man.

He further stated, the people of Kogi LG will continue to be grateful with Ebira people over what God has used one of their own to change the socio-political system of the State.

Tanko, applause the organizer for the warm welcome accorded him and all the guests which set the program a huge successful one.

On his part, erstwhile, State Assembly member, Commissioner in the State, Hon. Saidu Akawu Salihu, described Ebira Women as great and hardworking whose had excelled in various areas of endeavors.

According to Akawu, Wherever place, town, village or any location Ebira people always identify with others by showcasing their open love and promoting peace and unity.

Akawu pray God to guide, protect and grant them more prerequisite wisdom as they’re working together as a team to succeed in their mission and vision.

The event was rounded off with a dance session where all ivited guests and other group unwound to the flows of various Ebira native music.

The President of the Association could not hide her joy at what she term a successful outing.

“I thank God for the grace to chair such a noble association and help uplift the Association in such a nice manner”.

Highlights of the event, the dignitaries equally launched the Almanac and made some donations to the group. The occasion was colourful, well attended, orderly and peaceful.
