The foremost House of Assembly candidate of Constituency 1 in race for Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Christabel Eremah Ekwu, spoke with our correspondent at Igarra and talked about why she is still in the race in spite of some persons peddling rumours to thwart her effort.

“My determination to add value to the lives of the people of Akoko-Edo Constituency 1 is unshakable. I am more than confident that I am going to win the primaries come May because of the reassuring support of leaders and delegates of members of the party in the Constituency. They see me as their own, a long standing loyal party member and one with track record of community development.

“Over the years, I have demonstrated in Akoko-Edo PDP and communities through my NGO how even without being in government, one can support. I have set an unequaled standard of personal dedication and unflinching support for the Party in Akoko-Edo that going to the House of Assembly will be an added advantage to advance my devotion to the people and communities.

“I am therefore requesting each delegate to shun all side talks instituted by those who peddle rumours, as expected, and face the business of electing me into the Edo State House of Assembly to perform.

Akoko-Edo Constituency 1 must move forward through quality representation. We can’t continue to deliberately fail our people by recyrcling or electing those who cannot represent our collective interests.” She further said she had laid plans to empower women, engage the youths and see to the welfare of the less privileged when elected in 2023.
