Edo 2024: Ighodalo already gained significant recognition, popularity

As Edo State September governorship election drawn nearer, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo have already gained significant recognition and popularity, may not need a formal introduction.
Asue Ighodalo name and reputation often precede not only in State but Nigeria as whole, and he is widely known by the general public.
An introduction might even seem redundant or unnecessary.
In Edo State of today, the most talked about citizen is Dr Asue Ighodalo.
He is the astute politician that has brought zeal and zest into Edo State politics since he started consultations with stakeholders across board last year.
Asue Ighodalo needs no introduction; people talk about him because he is a Nigerian businessman and entrepreneur who is an inspiration to the younger generation.
He was the chairman of the Board of Directors of Sterling Bank Plc, a leading commercial bank in Nigeria.
He was also a co-founder and chairman of the board of directors of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), a private sector-led think tank and advocacy group that promotes economic growth and development in Nigeria.
Asue Ighodalo is widely recognized for his contributions to the development of the Nigerian economy and has received several awards and honors for his achievements in business and philanthropy.
He is also a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management and a member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group’s Hall of Fame.
Ighodola is the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State for the gubernatorial election. He is far the most popular of the 17 candidates contesting.
He has always been involved in various initiatives aimed at promoting good governance and development in Nigeria and Edo State in particular.
Ighodalo has a strong background in law and has worked as a legal practitioner for several years.
He is from Ewohimi in Edo Central Senatorial District and has been involved in various community development projects in Edo State.
As the leading candidate, Ighodalo has raised the bar on electioneering in Edo State and has become a reference point. This fact is not in doubt.
He has been an advocate of issue-based campaigns and he is focused on issues such as security, economic development of the state, education, healthcare, infrastructure among other thematic issues.
He has promised to bring about positive changes and prosperity to the people when elected as the executive governor of the state.
