Education Devt: Nasarawa Lawmaker Hon Alkali registers 300 candidates for JAMB/WAEC.

Hon Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali, member representing Lafia North Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has distributed 200 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to 200 indigent students of his constituency free.

He has also paid this year’s West African Examination Council ( WAEC) for 100 students of his constituency.

Alkali, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Chieftaincy Affairs made this known when he distributed the forms and registered the students at Nasarawa State Bureau for Information and Communication Technology ( ICT) today in Lafia.

He said that the gesture under ” Alkali-Talba Foundation ” was to reduce the burden of JAMB registration and WAEC on parents of the less privileged students.

” This gesture is borne out of my desire to assist the indigent students of my constituency towards improving the standard of education.

” As the importance of the education sector to human and societal development could not be overemphsized,” he said.

Alkali, who is the Deputy Chief Whip of the House, said that his education foundation was in line with Gov. Sule’s education policies for the overall development of the state.

He urged the beneficiaries to study well in order to come out with flying colours in JAMB and WAEC Examinations.

” When you come out with flying colours in JAMB and WAEC Examinations, this will enable you to secure higher institution’s admission with ease,” he added.

The lawmaker also urged the beneficiaries to embrace free ICT training at the Bureau for ICT in their own interest and for the overall development of the constituency.

Alkali has also assured of his continued commitment to represent his people well at the state legislature for development to thrive.

The lawmaker has called on the people of his constituency and the state at large to support him and Gov. Sule’s administration to succeed.

Also speaking, the Director General,Nasarawa State Bureau for Information and Technology ( ICT), Lafia Shehu Ibrahim has commended the lawmaker for the gesture.

He urged the students to justify Hon Alkali’s investment by studying their books to come out with good JAMB and WAEC results.

Responding, Christopher Ajegena and Patience Ogboshi, beneficiaries, who spoke on behalf of others, appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture.

They have prayed God to bless Hon Alkali abundantly in his future political and other endeavours.

It would be reported that Hon Alkali supervised and monitored the ICT JAMB registration at the Bureau for ICT Lafia.

It would also be reported that the gesture cut across the six electoral wards of the constituency namely Assakio, Adogi, Keffi Wambai, Shabu/ Kwandere, Ashige and Arikiya wards.
