The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Honorable Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Friday call for the need for Nigerians to live together in peace and harmony.
In a statement in Lafia, Nasarawa State Capital by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Jibrin Gwamna said the Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi has urged citizens home and in diaspora to use the period to pray for the success of 2023 general elections in the country.
Speaker, Balarabe Abdullahi who is the State Amirul – Hajj and Leader of Nasarawa State Government’s delegation to this year’s pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia underscored the significance of the festival of sacrifice hence the need for the period to be used for sober reflections through love and sacrifice.
The speaker urged Muslims to hold on to Islamic tenets and the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah because “the teachings of Islam emphasise that we live with one another peacefully.”
“Nigerians must stop viewing themselves in divergent lines. They must stop emphasizing their differences. They must contribute towards the unity, stability and progress of the country.”
