Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has been described as a peace maker without borders inview of his recent intervention in the lingering communal strives between the Tivs and Jukuns in Taraba State, which is already guaranteeing peace in those areas.
Benue State Deputy Governor, Chief Benson Abounu, stated this while delivering his vote of thanks during the joint security and peace meeting between Benue and Nasarawa States, held in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area of Venue state on Wednesday.
Chief Abounu said the people of Benue State are not surprised with the leadership qualities of Engineer Sule because he is a man of experience, having managed Dangote Group, one of the biggest conglomerates in the country.
“Till today, your intervention in the dispute between the Tivs and Jukuns of Taraba State, is still what is subsisting and is still what has guaranteed peace in those areas,” Abounu stated.
The Benue Deputy Governor expressed appreciation for Engineer Sule’s decision to convene the peace meeting between Benue and Nasarawa States, stressing that Sule’s assistance to Benue will remain indelible.
It would be recalled that only recently, Engineer Sule intervened in the lingering communal strives between Tivs and Jukuns of Taraba, by accepting to host a reconciliatory meeting between the two warring communities.
The meeting was held at the Government House, Lafia, the result of the timely intervention by the Governor, is what the Deputy Governor of Benue state has confidently reported.
