Farmer, Son, Crushed By Dangote Truck In Kogi.

A truck belonging to Dangote Cement company early morning of Tuesday crushed a farmer and his son, who were on their way to the farm in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

The truck loaded with cement was coming from Obajana cement company through Hassan Katsina road in Lokoja metropolis, when the driver in the process of negotiating the roundabout at zone 8 junction crushed the farmer and his son who were on a motorcycle, just as the second son escaped narrowly.

The late farmer whose identity could not be ascertained conveyed his two sons and herbicide spraying machine on their way to the the farm when the truck killed them , with the second son lucky to have narrowly escaped.

Irked by the killing of father and son, angry mob milled and set the truck ablaze as the driver and his fellows escaped being lynched

The state police command while confirming the incident said that the truck lost control at the zone 8 roundabout and crushed a pedestrian and injured one other person who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya who spoke to our correspondent on phone said that the incident made the people in the area to take law into their hands and set the truck ablaze.

He however confirmed the death of one person while the identity of the other one injured could not be immediately ascertained.
