The Administrator of Koton-Karfe, Kogi Local Government Area, of the state, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa, On Wednesday said in order to ensure peaceful coexistence between farmers and herdsmen in the area, was the brains behind the called for round table discussion.
Tanko, stated this shortly after a security meeting held in his office, council Secretariat, Koton-Karfe, the LG headquarters.
He Stressed that peace remain panacea which was parts of his administration and in order to avoid clashes as witnessed in some parts of the country.
According to him, some herdmen have actually contacted him through his security adviser, Hon. Haruna Abacha, for urgent attention which culminated to today meeting with all parties especially the two communities involved were present for amicable resolution.
He said parts of mechanism in settling dispute was a dialogue, “by so doing all matter arising from the dispute was not only presented but amicably settled without bloodshed.
He said, “The dialogue we are talking about will help us a lot because we have looked and sometimes you do not know where they settle until problems arise.”
“It is not easy to deal with this people because whenever you call for such meetings it is always their leaders that will come and we have been emphasising it that whenever we call such meeting, they should equally go and call meeting of their people and tell them the decisions of government.” He promised to assist those victims affected during their feud.
The community leaders from Ette, Okofi thanked the Administrator for his diligent for settling their age long problems. Praying God to continue to guide, protect and grant him heart desired.
On their part, the Nomadic appreciated the Administrator for being used by God to intervene in their issues, assured him of their loyalty and support.
The meeting had in attendance the Nomadic, some traditional rulers, community leaders, youths leaders and some administrative team as well as community vigilante officers.
