FCT Polls: Ex – Gwagwalada Chair, Abu Giri, Picks APC Nomination Form

A former Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibirin Giri, has picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination form to contest for the chairmanship of the council slated for February, 22, 2022.
Global Times Nigeria report, that Alhaji Abubakar Jibirin Giri, was chairman of the council in 2013, while he sought for for second term but lost out to the incumbent chairman of the council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, in 2016, while he re- contest again in 2019, under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in which he lost out again to the incumbent chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha.
Alhaji Abubakar Jibirin Giri, who arrived at the state secretariat of the APC in Abuja, at about 12:04 pm along side some of his supporters was received presented with the APC expression of interest/nomination by the state APC organizing secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Koko Kuje.
The former council chairman, while speaking with newsmen shortly after he purchased the nomination form, said he was fully prepared to participate in the forthcoming chairmanship primaries, saying he was optimistic that one person shall emerged winer at the primaries.
He expressed confidence and optimism in the party leadership in ensuring that a free and fair level playing ground will be afforded to every aspirants at the primaries.
“And I am very sure that if there is going to be justice at the party’s primaries, there will be no problem because if you observed very well, the last primary election in 2018, everybody knew what happened at the primaries. But I believe, with the leaders we have presently, what happened in 2019 election, should not happen in this primary election ” he said.
The state organising secretary of the APC in the FCT, Alhaji Ibrahim Koko Kuje, urged the chairmanship aspirant to work closely with the party to ensure that he emerged victorious at the polls.
