FCT Polls: Hon Abu Giri Emerges Gwagwalada APC Candidate.

The former chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri has emerged as the sole candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) for the February, 12, 2022 council’s elections in Gwagwalada.
Announcing the result, the chairman of the primaries election committee, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo, said Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, emerged the sole candidate of the party following the disqualification of his only contender Alhaji kasimu Muhammad presently the vice Chairman of Gwagwalada area council.

Alhaji Ametuo, said that due to the findings of the leadership of the party over the circumstances leading to the irregularities in the just concluded primary election in the area, saying the party recommended that those found guilty should be sanctioned.
He said that the development resulted to the disqualification of the incumbent vice chairman of the council, Alhaji Muhammed Kasimu Ikwa.
He affirmed Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, as the sole candidate of the party in the February, 12, 2022 in FCT area councils elections in Gwagwalada, in the presence of the official of Independent National electoral commission (INEC).

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, thanked the delegates and expressed appreciation for their commitment and doggedness throughout the process, while promising to work hard in ensuring the ruling APC retained its seat in Gwagwalada area council.
Alhaji Jibrin Giri, further pledged to hit the ground running especially by reaching out to his fellow contestants with a view of ensuring victory in the coming Election for the APC in the area.
He called on party supporters to remain calm and continue to be loyal to the party.
According to the independent National electoral commission (INEC) timetable , April, 24th by midnight is the deadline for the submission of names of all Political parties flagbearers wishing to participate in next year’s FCT area Councils Elections.
