Kogi State Commissioner for Solid minerals and natural Resources, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu is a man battalion that is so much loved by his people and beyond. The love was coming in view of his sincere commitment, leadership qualities he has so far rendered and for showing capacity over the years.
The young Commissioner since assumption of office has provided leadership, succour and dividends to his people, a feat or development he said was as a result of huge support he garner from his leader, benefactor and Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Back home in Kogi, Koton-karfe local government area of the State, the remnants from opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has left their former party for ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the area in order to be part of ongoing transformation taken in the State and particular at the LG level.
The PDP members in their numbered from Orehi, Manyere, Akpasi and Agidi communities on 14 Sunday, November, 2021 formerly defected to APC for what they described as unmatched development taking place in the area hence their decision to quickly joined the moving train.
Some of the Decampees who spoke to Global Times Nigeria Correspondent says their decisions to joined APC was based on the leadership acumen provided by Governor Yahaya Bello convince them beyond reasonable doubt.
According to them, the ongoing fight against insecurity has yielded positive, infrastructural development sited in Kogi LG such reference hospital, grading and upgrading of traditional stools, appointments of their sons and daughters and so many things convinced them to pitch tent with ruling APC and government of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Receiving the Decampees at an epoch making event, Engr. Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, Commissioner for Solid minerals and Natural Resources commended them for taken a right decisions at a right time. He described their prompt decisions as one of the best political arithmetic ever held in the area.
According to the Commissioner, “You’re all welcome to APC family, a family with members of progressive which cut across board and along tribal and religion consideration. ”
“As we all know, our Governor has been on a clarion to serve this country comes 2023 election. The calls was championed by Nigerian youths who want the Governor to replicate same leadership at the centre.”
He expressed optimism that Gov Bello will emerged in the primaries and urged them to adopt GYB2PYB as their major project and sure ticket to beat in 2023.
The Commissioner who is also known as Sarkin Yaki GYB2PYB assured the defectors of equal treatment in the party. He congratulated them for finding them worthy to be part of the most populous and working political party in the Sub-Sahara Africa.
Stakeholders who grace the occasion include, Kogi LG APC, Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Onah, Deputy state chairman, Chairperson of Kogi LGA, Hon Hassana Jezhi, Hon Idrees Aliyu, SSA on local Govt, chairman APC stakeholders kogi LGA, Alh Shaibu Berger, women leader, Gegu South and APC chairman amongst others.
