Barely one year in office, Nasarawa State under the visionary and purposive leadership of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has been experiencing tremendous growth and development particularly in areas of peace building and consolidating on the previous progress achieved by past administrations.
Since assumption of office, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has left no stone unturned. He has focused on what I will like to call 2-point agenda by ensuring that the security of life and property has received maximum attention as well as ensure that all abandoned projects littered around the State are completed since the inception of democracy. These projects are now at different stages of completion to avoid wastage of our meager resources.
Notable among such gigantic projects are Government House Banquet Hall, Cargo Airport, Kwandere, PHC Shabu, Bus Terminal, Lafia, Jamb Office, Lafia, Western Bye-pass, Kwandare, DASH infrastructural development and Medical equipment, Lafia, Skills acquisation Centre, Lafia to mention but a few.
It is equally notable that appointments of capable sons and daughters into government, wooing investors, civil service reform, address of shortfall in salary and pension administration at both the state, local government councils and development areas level have been prioritized amidst dwindling resources at the government disposal.
The engineer of modern Nasarawa State, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, is a choice of God and hope of the rural populace who came to Government House, Lafia well-prepared for governance with a real model of leadership, politics and administrative prowess for public good. This is as a result of the necessary experience gathered in both government, political and private sectors over the years.
Inview of the popular demands of the electorates during the electioneering campaign and promises made, Gov Sule has so far tactically looked inward to generate revenue, block leakages, and change the narrative before the full implementation of his plans after the first one year in office.
Surprisingly, detractors and traducers have sponsored public outrage showing dissatisfaction on the level of His Excellency’s performance within few months in office claiming that he will spend only one tenure in office especially from opponents that didn’t believe in what the Governor is actually doing to better the life of the good people of the State.
This is simply because it is no longer business as usual for the same people that bastardized the system over the years.
For the purpose of record, the political jobbers and propagandists who believed and think that the political destiny of every individual in Nasarawa State is in their hands should always have a rethink. Gone are the days, when we allowed such people to eat their cakes and still have it.
Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, the Gudi town born Prince and a trained Engineer of international repute is not a novice in the state politics. He has been a full time student of various governments since creation of the state.
Therefore, he has garnered a lot of experience to withstand any future possible challenge. He is a super graduate with specialization as a professor of psycho-politics with the magic spoon to change governance and political narrative.
Interestingly, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule after one year anniversary in office come May 29, 2020 is no longer on learning curve. It is time for sober reflection. The journey has so far been full of experience, pleasure, disappointment, exasperation and a renewed hope to unfold real governance.
It is also pertinent to make a clarion call to His Excellency to expeditiously rejig his administration for more effective service delivery to the people so as to nip in the bud the long clamour for such exercise.
At this juncture, I pray that God Almighty will continue to give him wisdom, strength, courage and the ability to take Nasarawa State to the next level.
