Guber Poll: Make Engr. Bashir Gegu Kogi APC Campaign DG for November polls, Says CAAM-G
Comrade Abdullahi Adamu Mandate Movement, a political movement in Lokoja has demanded that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) makes the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Muhammed Bashir Gegu, the Director General (DG) of its campaign council.
This press statement is sequel to an earlier press release where the body had earlier canvassed for zoning of the position to Kogi West, and specifically to Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency.
The statement was signed by the convener of the group, Comrade Iliyasu Zakari and made available to the media by the head of Media and Publicity, Yabagi Mohammed.
The body said having taken critical look at the various criteria to lead the campaign and the commitment demonstrated by the stakeholders from the area, Engr Bashir Gegu fits the bill in view of his doggedness and determination to ensure APC succeeds in the election.
The body noted that Engr Gegu also has the charisma to mobilise the people, not only from the area, but across the state to ensure victory for the party.
The body equally restated its commitment towards galvanizing support for Comrade Abdullahi Adamu in his quest to become the next Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, stressing that he fits the bill, given his antecedents as a committed, hardworking and progressive Comrade who has contributed immensely to the success of the ruling party in all elections.
The body also urged the people of the state to sustain their support for the APC, adding that Kogi cannot afford to be an opposition party, hence the need to vote for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo come November, 2023 to continue the giant strides and gains achieved under Governor Yahaya Bello.
