Gwagwalada PDP Chairmanship Candidate Sympathizes With Victims Of Gas Explosion
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate for the February 12, 2022 election in Gwagwalada area council, Hon Kasim Mohammed Iowa, on Wednesday, visited the intensive care unit of the University of Abuja teaching hospital to sympathize with victims of the gas explosion in the area.
Our correspondent gathered that five persons, which comprised of three children and two adults sustained various degrees of burns after a gas cylinder exploded at an uncompleted building at Dagiri in the area on Saturday.
Hon Kasim, who earlier visited the explosion scene before proceeding to the hospital, was accompanied by the Gwagwalada chapter PDP chairman, Umar Abdullahi Yunusa, and some of his supporters, expressed shock and sadness over the incident.
He said he was saddened by the explosion, which he said affected the children even as he prayed for the quick recovery of all the affected victims.
He, however, advised residents of the area especially those who are into gas refiling to always be cautious whenever they refile gas for customers.
The chairmanship candidate, also visited the families of the victims at their residences to sympathize with them where he donated some undisclosed cash to the family of the affected victims.
However, a family of the victims appreciated the chairmanship candidate for his kind efforts for taking time out of his busy schedule to show concern and sympathize with them over the incident.
