The All Progressives Congress, APC, at its just concluded local government Congresses conducted all over the country has elected new officials that will oversee the party in the next four years.
In Koton-Karfe, Kogi local government area of the State, a new Chairman of the party has emerged victorious in person of Hon. Abubakar Onah a one time councilor in the area.
The acting Chairperson of the Council, Hon. Hussanat Jezhi Bako has congratulated all the newly elected party officials in Kogi LG, sayimg their emergence do not comes to her as surprised owing to their vast experience, commitment, loyalty and support to the ruling APC in the area.
The Acting Chairperson in a statement issued on Sunday, in Koton-Karfe, the LG headquarters by her Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Hon. Babankudi Sa’ad charged the new officials to promote peace, unity and development among the people of the area.
The statement further state: “I was overwhelmed with your peaceful, orderliness and decorum displayed before, during and after the exercise”.
It would be recall that the new council boss became the acting Chairperson after the former Executive Chairman, Hon. Isah Abdulkarim Bala Ecomog was suspended on 25th, August 2021 following his criminal indictment by the Kogi State House of Assembly in order to pave the way for further investigation into his alleged scandalous activities by the Director of State Security (DSS).
“My administration need you all to succeed in areas of peace, development and unity. My doors will be wide open for those of you that may wish to offer genuine advises”.
The acting Chairperson equally used the medium to thanked the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for his humane and pragmatic leadership prowess, noting that his administration gave birth to relentless peace, unity and development.
She also appreciated all the stakeholders in the area who have in one way or the other contributed immensely to the peaceful conduct of the exercise as she pray God Almighty to increased them in sound health, more wisdom and understanding to enable them do more for their people. The statement added.
Global Times Nigeria report that the Kogi LG Chapter of the party held it congress under peaceful atmosphere devoid of rancour. The process was adjudged as one of best political arithmetic in history of the area.
However, the party has unanimously adopted a consensus mode to elect its new officials.
