Incoming Government Should Appoint indigene as FCT Minister- Chief Ezra Gomna, District Head of Kurudu, FCT Abuja

The District Head of Kurudu, in Abuja Municipal area council, Chief Ezra Gomna, has advocated the need for the incoming administration to appoint the indigene of the Federal Capital Territory to occupy the position of a minister, this according to him will make them have a sense of belonging.

He stated this whle interacting with Journalists at his residence, in Kurudu, Thursday, on the task ahead of the new administration under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Gomna, emphasized that if indigenes of the FCT are being recognized with some lucrative appointments particularly, the ministerial position, it will make them benefit from the dividend of democracy, urging the next government to initiate policies and programmes that will better the lives of the citizenry.

“If it is because of the tribe or religion that our people will not be giving the ministerial appointment, we also have Gbagyi that are Muslims and Christians. There are Gade and Gwandara who are indigenes and there are Muslims and Christians among them, anyone of the tribes should be appointed as minister, we are comfortable with that”

“We also request that the position of the FCT Minister should be zone so that we can wait for our turn”

On the issue of peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic nationalities in Kurudu and it’s environs, the traditional ruler said there has not been any form of misunderstanding that could distort the existing peace in the area, calling on the people to sustain the tempo.

He further maintained that, the welfare of the traditional rulers should be giving priority because they are the most closest to the people at the grassroot and promised to continue supporting the activities of the government at all times for development to thrive.

The monarch prayed God to guide the incoming administration and wisdom to lead Nigerians in the right direction to succeed.
