Honourable Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, the Executive Chairman Toto Local Government Area has expressed satisfaction in the fight against criminal elements especially kidnappers and banditry activities in the area.

Hon Tashas said the ongoing onslaught against bad eggs in the area won’t have be successful if not for the collaboration between his administration and the security operatives in the area.

Tashas lauded the gallantry efforts of officers and men of Nigerian army for ruthlessly dealt with the criminals who once turn the forest their free zone where they perpetuate all forms of evil activities.

The Chairman who was ably represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna Kwannakis, expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for nip in the bud a life threatening situation in the area.

A press statement from Toto LGC Secretariat signed and issued by Yahaya Idris Toto, Wednesday, said the Chairman made the assertion while playing host to General Officer Commanding (GOC) 166 Army division, thanking the various security agencies for their efforts and collaboration towards safeguarding the lives and property of Toto people.

“I am glad to inform you that no section of our territory are deprived from embarking on their farming activities due to banditry unlike the past two years ago, all this is possible because of officers on ground are on top of the situation; they crushed them and are always vigil, Toto local government area as a whole is safe and I must give you the accolade, the Chairman maintained.

The council boss also sought for continued collaboration with the citizens in area of information gathering that will lead to possible arrest of criminal remnants taking refuge in the forest of Toto and it’s environ.

The Chairman specifically appealed to people of Gadabuke, uttu, Sardauna villages to emulate other communities in the area as to provide meaningful information that lead to arrest of those criminals, saying their support and collaboration in information geared towards the fight against crimes was made easy for him to succeed.

Speaking earlier, General Officers Commanding (GOCs) 166 Army division headed by Colonel A . O Onasanya said they were in Toto on a routine supervision to the formations across Toto LG.

Onasanya who praised the Chairman’s role in the fight against insecurity, adding that his continued commitment in the battle will gone along way in curbing crimes in the area.

The security chief thanked the Chairman for the warmest reception accorded various formations and assured him of their all to ensure the area is secured.

The statement added that the Nigerian Army while in Toto visited various formations including Uttu, Gadabuke and Sardauna forests respectively.
