A group under the aegis Kogi Joint Youth for positive Change (KJYPC) has honoured the Commissioner for solid Minerals and natural resources, Hon. Chief Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu as the most youth friendly Administrator in the State following his vast purposeful leadership and Humanitarian affection render to his people and State in general.
Engineer Bashir Gegu is rated as one of most active Commissioners in the government of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello whose Leadership qualities depict his principal ideology such as providing good governance, security, human capital development, youth and women development among other.

The Kogi born successful businessman cum political heavyweight has won several award and Chieftaincy tittle within and outside the State with a view to spurred him to do more for his people.
Presenting the award of excellence to the workable Commissioner, Comr. Musa Ojodomo, President of the group said based on the administrative acuity of Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, his people are now sleeping with their two eyes closed.
Musa Ojodomo further asserted that positive ideas and contributions of the governor is being put to practise not only limited to his immediate community but rather across the State as exhibited by his own very appointee and Commissioner for solid Minerals and natural resources, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu.
The leader of people living with disability in the State and youth leader representing the eastern region in the KJYPC, Comr Arome stressed that the young Commissioner has empowered also the downtrodden by donating school items and medical facilities to people particularly in Kogi LG where he came from.
He thanked the Governor for appointing a fearless and courageous politician in person of Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, who is ever ready to work for his people and State in general.
The group youth Leader, Comr. Danjuma Mohammed, who earlier read the rich citation of the Commissioner told the gathering that Engineer Bashir Gegu is the man of the moment who had change the narrative from old order where appointees stay away from their people without considering them.

According to him, Engineer Bashir Gegu has impacted so many lives across the state without considering tribe, religion and party affiliation before rendering such services to those who have cross his part.
Reacting to the honour done on him, in an interview with our correspondent, shortly after the Conferment Engineer Abubakar Bashir Guge expressed total gratitude to Almighty God and appreciate the group for the open show of love, adding that he was grateful that the people noticed his modest contribution to the society.
He said he has learnt a lot from his leader, benefactor and Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, whose Leadership qualities key on development, security, education, human capital development, youth and women development among other.
According to Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, rendering services to the people, particularly the underprivileged, was designed to sustain the legacies of the Governor.

“I believe those who just honour me today are mirror of the society or political watchers with a mandate to encourage those who are doing very well to continue and while those that are not performing to wake up in order to do what is expected of them ahead of time.”
Engineer Bashir Gegu who was overwhelmed and dedicated the award to the Governor, saying he gave him the mandate and opportunity to explore inline with his administration cardinal principle geared towards improving the standard of people across the state.
He admonished youths in Lokoja/Koton-Karfe federal constituency to remain focused, law abiding and be committed to the progress of the society, urging them to key into GYB2PYB 2023 project aimed at redeeming the country.
