Kogi Commissioner, Bashir Gegu doles out N500,000, Mobility aids to disable lady who emerged winner in Qur’anic Competition

Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, on Sunday presented a cash of five hundred thousands (500,000) naira financial grants and mobility aids (Wheelchair) to one Ummul Habibat Yunus, a disable lady to aid her further study and to make her dream come true.

Bashir Gegu had since assumption of office as a Commissioner has been rendering assistance to both young and old within and outside the shores of his Kogi/Koton-karfe local government area of the State, a development he described as emulating his benefactor, mentor and Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Engr. Gegu said that the presentation of funds and mobility aids to people with special needs are an obvious evidence of a promise fulfilled by present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello led All Progressives Congress, APC, to ensure all inclusive leadership in which no body will be left out.

The Qur’anic Competition held in Gegu Beki, Kogi local government area had in attendance prominent politicians, religion leaders, traditional rulers and group from within and outside Kogi State.

Globaltimesnigeria.com report that Ummul Habibat Yunus, a disabled lady had emerged winner in one of the categories in the just concluded 2022 Kogi Local Government Area Quranic competition held in Gegu Beki on the 5th and 6th November 2022.

Speaking at the event, Engr. Bashir Gegu urged Kogi populace to partner with present administration as to ensure more development and continuity geared towards provision of more dividends.

He said his door is always wide open for anyone who has meaningful contribution that will move Kogi LG and State forward to enviable heights.

On his their part, the Kogi LG Qur’anic Committee for 2022 commended the young Commissioner and prayed to Allah to continue to shower on him as he continues to touch lives in his capacity.
