Kogi Commissioner, Engr. Bashir Gegu calls for immortalization of the late COAS, MC Alli.

IDRIS AHMED, Lokoja.

Kogi state Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Honourable Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, has described the death of the former Chief of Army Staff as tragic and very painful.

In his condolence mssage to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Commissioner noted with saddens that a reputable military Officer whose valuable intelligence service is valuable for the sustenance of the country died when his services are most needed.

The Commissioner expressed his grief when the news of the demise of one of those who fought for the unity and sustenance of one Nigeria was announced.

He said the Nigerian nation missed one of its intelligent military advisers that fought for the present democracy under the then doubtful Babangida
hand over administration.

Gegu recalled that MC Alli was removed as Chief of Army Staff because of his insistence on the promised Democratic governance.

He therefore urged the present democratic government and the Nigerian Army to immortalize General Mohammed Chris Alli as a hero in the struggle for what Nigerians are benefiting today

Bashir Gegu also prayed that the Almighty God grant the people’s General external peace and repose of his soul, urging the family and all concerned to accept his demise as act of God.
