Kogi Communities hail Bello’s emancipation programs through Okala.

Communities in Kogi state have expressed confidence in the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello over the humanitarian and philanthropic gesture of one of his aides, Alhaji Yakubu Yahaya Okala, the State Auditor General.

The most senior Gago of Ajiyalo Ojaji in Odu ward 11 in Dekina local government area, Chief Ochika Ejigba who represented other leaders, noted with satisfaction the role Alhaji Yakubu Okala played in the provision of dividends of democracy to the people of the area.

The joyous members of the community accompanied Chief Ejigba to the handing over ceremony of the 25,000 litres capacity electrically propelled borehole on Friday at Ajiyolo Ojaji, site of the completed water project

According to the community leader, ” Alhaji Yakubu Okala has salvaged the community from regular acute water scarcity experienced over the years. With his appointment as the Auditor General of Kogi state, the community has been opened to modern ways of living.

” Many communities have benefited from his kind gesture, such as provision of rural electrification, water project and schools renovation. “

Spokesman of the community, Mallam Yakubu Bomboy Alfa, maintained that they have no option than for the community to continue to maintain loyalty and support for the Alhaji Yahaya Bello government as the leader of the state and as well as unflinching supporters of his Presidential aspiration.

“Our people are solidly behind Bello to be given the opportunity to rule this country so that he replicate the rural transformation project across the country.” Alfa said.

He however regretted that the poor living conditions of the people of the area under the previous administration led by an indigene of the area has caused a lot of havoc .

In the same vein, the Ajaguwa, Olu, Agbanewa and Ogbadu communities of the Odu wards expressed appreciation over the restoration of electricity, disconnected for over 5 years.

The representative of the Auditor General, Hon Abdullahi Suleiman, while presenting the refurbished and re installed electricity transformer advised the youths and community leaders to provide security for the equipment to prevent vandalization.

Suleiman stated that rural electrification is one of the major concern of the Bello administration, hence the commitment of the Auditor General Okala to ensure the reconnection of the communities to electricity.

He explained that the people of the area will benefit from the electricity especially in economic activities, urging them to take advantage as a challenge and utilise the facility appropriately.
