The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief (Dr.) Edward David Onoja has charged youths across the State to highten their rapport with the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to encourage further development in the grassroots.

He gave the charge when Members of Lokoja Local Government Council, led by Council Leader– Hon. Blessing Bala, paid him a Courtesy Visit in his office in Lokoja, recently.

Chief Onoja congratulated the Members on their victories at the polls, saying he was mostly elated that they were predominantly youths, and particularly women, a factor, according to him, which cements the character-traits of Governor Bello as not only a young man, but one with a resolve to have youths in the heart of his administration.

He emphasized that grassroots participation for the youths was important for political identity because it brings them closer to their people and open countless doors of opportunities. He insisted that as the host Local Government of the Governor, the onus rests on the Council to contribute their quota in bringing development to the Area by deliberate show of quality communication, hardwork, commitment, sensitisation and cooperation with their executives.

He said the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello was committed to changing the pre-existing narratives that relegated youths to the background because as a youth himself, he understands they are the future of the State.
