Kogi state government has declared Friday 11th December, 2020 as public for workers in the state civil service.

A statement by the state Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo said the holiday is to enable Civil Servants travel to their towns and villages for the December 12, 2020 Local Government election in the State.

He said the directive would enable civil servants exercise their right to vote and participate in the political determination of how their Local Government Areas are governed.

Fanwo said the gesture is a further confirmation of the commitment of the Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration to deepening democratic practice and tenets.
